Soeben bin ich beim morgendlichen Bloggen auf ein echt cooles Video gestossen vom Januar diesen Jahres. Ein paar Forscher haben die eingebaute Kamera des MacBook mit den Möglichkeiten die sie bietet in eine Art Parallax-Kamera-Display-System umgebaut:
Why do I blog this? Ich beschäftige mich grade mit 3D Effekten, sowohl in Bild und Bewegtbild.
Ich habe sie gesehen in Form des Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) Systems. Die Technology Review hat einen Beitrag dazu online mit dem Titel Persönlicher Nahverkehr. Liebe münchener MVV/MVG wie wär’s denn, wenn ihr mit BMW einen solchen Piloten mal für Münchens Innenstadt anbietet. Auto draussen stehen lassen und dann nur noch Ziel eingeben im PRT: „Möchte zum Baumarkt.“ oder „Bitte zum chinesischen Turm.“ oder „Bitte zum nächsten Restaurant.“
Neben der Möglichkeit eine Flatrate für die „Pod“/PRT-Nutzung anzubieten für alle 1,4 Mio Einwohner in München, könnte man sicher super Werbung auf den Dingern unterbringen, eine Premiumklasse schaffen, oder sogar eine Differenzierung nach Hersteller. Zum Beispiel so: „Heute ist Sonntag heute order ich mir einen PorscheCabrio-Pod/PRT zum genießen.“ Auch vorprogrammierte Stadtbesichtigungstouren könnten ein Renner werden…
…Deutsche Automobilindustrie… just imagine! Was das an Platz in den Wohngebieten für neuen Lebensraum bringen würde. Straßencafés statt Stau und Lärm. Fahrräder statt SUV’s. Elegant cruisende PRT’s statt stinkende und hupende Prestigeblechkisten! Kombiniert mit einem bestellsystem per Handy und einer Nutzungsflatrate, wäre das eine klasse Mobilitysolution.

Der Spiegel hat einen netten Verweis auf ein Event, dass quasi das Äquivalent zum x-Prize für die Weltraumfahrt bei den Automobilen darstellt: Die US-Rallye Automotive X Prize. Gespannt bin ich auf den DeLorean der quasi das Hoverboard für’s Auto sein soll. Ob das ein Hoax ist oder nicht? Vermutlich ja, denn auf der offiziellen Seite steht zu lesen:

Why do I blog this? Weil dieses Ding gleich ein paar Probleme mehr lösen könnte. Stichwort: U-Bahn, S-Bahn, Straßenbahn, ach ja und Bahn an sich. Parkplatzprobleme, genauso wie Feinstaubbelastungen, Lärmbelastungen und die Rückgewinnung von Lebensraum in Innenstädten durch Platz wegen nicht mehr nötiger Parkplätze. Just imagine 2009!

The Semantic Web is about two things. It is about common formats for integration and combination of data drawn from diverse sources, where on the original Web mainly concentrated on the interchange of documents. It is also about language for recording how the data relates to real world objects. That allows a person, or a machine, to start off in one database, and then move through an unending set of databases which are connected not by wires but by being about the same thing.

Why do I blog this?Berners-Lee shows, that actually we put all our data into walled gardens or silos. Though I think he did not recognize, that opening this data via API’s is firing a lot of cool services. So things are moving in this direction, mor eopenness of data, more access on raw data. Twitter would be a perfect example how „thousands of flowers blossom“ based on the API which gives access to the data. I am curious to get the full coverage of his presentation with audio. Meanwhile this snippet of uncommented slides will do the job.
