Thomas Riedel is talking to Co-Founder and CEO of planblue Joost den Haan. The Bremen-based startup with a Dutch CEO and international team is engaged in mapping the seafloor. Thanks to specially developed sensor technology, they can do this with unprecedented precision. And this precision is needed if one wants to make accurate calculations about the state of the sea and the seabed. And just how important the seabed is is shown by this surprising fact: Seagrass is 35 times better at storing carbon than the rainforest. Look forward to an exciting interview with Joost den Haan who is norn below the ocean surface, as they build a global seafloor database with underwater satellites.

Apple WWDC 2023: Keine Präsenz

Apple hat seine WWDC für 2023 angekündigt. Keine Präsenz… bzw. nur ein Tag, der Rest wie während der Pandemie nur online.

Das ist eine grosse Enttäuschung für mich. Ich hatte gehofft Apple würde zur Normalität zurückkehren. Ich war einige Jahre nicht mehr auf der WWDC vor Ort. Aber für einen Tag nach USA fliegen? Nein, soviel kann der Tag gar nicht wert sein, um eine solche Klimasünde zu rechtfertigen.

Schade!

Damit zeigt Apple den Entwicklern einmal mehr die kalte Schulter. Profit reicht ihnen. Wer dabei mitmacht… egal. Entwickler? Das sind diese seelenlosen Franchisenehmer, die alles mit sich machen lassen. Apple findet es sicher großartig, dass man bei allen vorproduzierten Videoinhalten der neuen WWDC die volle Kontrolle über alles hat. Keine menschlichen Fehler, keine komischen oder gar kritischen Fragen von Entwicklern. Es war fast klar, dass sie das Schema besser finden.

Why do I blog this? Ich wollte tatsächlich mal wieder hin. Und auch mal das gigantische Bauwerk sehen (Apple Park), aber für einen Tag Apple, da nehme ich kein Flugzeug von Europa für. Zu meinem Bedauern setzt Apple seine fortschreitenden Bemühungen um absolute Kontrolle über alles weiter fort. Das ist leider schade!
