iTunes: Syncing photos without it.

I don’t get iTunes. I am a huge fan of a TV serie on BBC. I found some great wallpaper graphics on their website and the web. I just wanted to transfer these images to my iDevice. And when I fired up iTunes to do that (because there is no other Apple recommended way of doing so) things went south quickly. See following screen…

I selected (for a test) 1 photo and wanted to sync that to the device. See what happened. Out of the blue iTunes killed all my apps, reorganized all apps, reordered all apps icon positions on the device and did NOT sync the photo. Huge success!!

…oder auch der Congress 2014… ich pack den hier mal ohne das Motto in der Headline hin. Denn dieses Jahr wäre es wohl besser gewesen gar kein Motto zu haben, als das, was da gewählt wurde.

Ich meine, hey, „A new dawn“ so eine Art „PR-Team-Konsens-irgendwas-mit-Lichtblick“-Slogan!? Ein hoffnungsvoller Aufbruch? Um aufbrechen zu können muss man erstmal stehen bzw. einen statischen Zustand erreicht haben. Diese Analyse scheint korrekt zu sein, denn um genau zu sein verharrte der CCC e.V. seit dem 30c3 in der Schockstarre eines Vergewaltigungsopfers. Bloß eingestehen wollte man sich das bis heute nicht. Es wird auch nicht thematisiert das alle white hats massiv gefickt wurden, stattdessen lädt man jetzt lieber gleich Geheimdienstler auf den Congress ein, um ihre PR und Anekdoten abzuladen bzw. um sich jetzt auf der eigenen Bühne LIVE ficken zu lassen. Much Geheimdienst, many live rape. Glückwunsch!

Und was genau hatten die Lectures überhaupt mit dem Motto zu tun? Also das Motto passte leider null, tut mir ja leid. Es hat mich schon gestört, dass letztes Jahr kein Motto da war, wo es doch so leicht gewesen wäre „30c3 – the whole world fucked.“ da hinzuschreiben oder „30c3 – the thermonuclear winter“ aber die Einfallslosigkeit wurde nur noch übertroffen durch die Verantwortungslosigkeit. Statt dort bereits zum Gegenangriff aufzurufen, zog man sich zurück, ließ haufenweise Lectures zu, die von Amerikanern gehalten wurden die ehemalige Geheimdienstler waren oder diesen sehr nahe stehen und die ungehalten ihre Schocknews präsentieren durften. Teilweise bekam man den Eindruck hier präsentiert ausschließlich Amerika in seiner ganz eigenen Shock & Awe Taktik, wie später mehrfach analysiert wurde.

I just want to give my posting from June 12th, 2013 a revisit. My core prophecy about the changes iOS 7 brought was the following:

It’s a headshot to innovation and the ecosystem and it basically screws a lot of business models.

We now have Oct 24th, 2014 that is one year and a quarter later. And now we see the results coming in:

Why do I blog this? Because Apple gave „indie“ developers not just a headshot, they still keep shooting them down until they stop trying to get up back on their feet.
