In 2024 I found following nice little projects putting information on a globe.<\/p>\n

The People Map (USA)<\/h2>\n

A People Map of the US<\/a>, where city names are replaced by their most Wikipedia\u2019ed resident: people born in, lived in, or connected to a place.<\/p>\n

Notable People Map (Whole World)<\/h2>\n

Notable people<\/a> using data from Morgane Laouenan et al., the map is showing birthplaces of the most „notable people“ around the world. Data has been processed to show only one person for each unique geographic location with the highest notability rank.<\/p>\n

Why do I blog this?<\/strong> I always like innovative forms of visualization which ar enot that easy to realize. Putting stuff on a globe is still not that easy for normal people.
